Having reached the age of 50 in February I've decided that unless I do a half marathon for charity this year I never will. I've chosen my home town half marathon in Sheffield on 8 May. I know Sheffield is hilly  but this course is flat I believe and it's my fault if it's not.

I've done a few 10k runs over the last few years so I know how tough keeping going twice that distance is going to be for me (big respect to all you marathon runners and Ironmen out there).

I haven't asked for sponsorship before and don't intend to again but as this is a real challenge for me I would be very, very grateful if you would sponsor me, even if for only £5, you tight fisted Yorkshiremen reading this.

The charity I've chosen is the Prostate Cancer Charity. Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men in the UK.

If all my friends and those clients who have received a good service from me sponsor me for £5 each, I could raise £15 or £20 for this great charity.
