I am running the London marathon on October the 2nd for Meningitis research foundation

I’m so proud to be offered this place as this charity is close to my family’s heart. We sadly lost my little brother to meningitis B and a few years later my brother fell very ill after contracting meningitis C.

In 1992 there was little information on detecting meningitis and sepsis, Thomas was rushed to hospital after falling seriously ill.  After finally being told he had contracted meningococcal Septicaemia, under 24 hours he passed away on Valentine’s Day, one month short of his second birthday. Move forward a few years later and with more research on how detecting meningitis matthew was given the medical help he needed right away. He was in hospital for a very long time but the awareness of my parents and doctors saved his life. 

Raising awareness and helping support services through this difficult time is crucial as ever. All money raised will help defeat meningitis . A plan which the world health organisation have put together to do so by 2030
