Story
Save the Children’s Emergency Fund enables us to respond immediately when a disaster strikes, it also allows us to respond to the countless ongoing crises around the world that don't hit the headlines. Recently this fund has supported emergencies such as the devastating Covid-19 crisis in India as well as helping us fight the global hunger crisis.
Even before the pandemic, hunger levels were at record global highs. Now, millions of children are facing a hunger crisis brought on by conflict, climate change, and COVID-19.
Without enough food, children can become malnourished. This means they are more vulnerable to disease and illness, putting their lives at risk. Malnourished children are also less likely to grow up strong and healthy and do well at school, impacting their lives for years to come.
We know that 13 countries are already at crisis point. We need to be prepared to adapt to families’ needs as the situation continues to change.
Together we can make sure all children live free from malnutrition – so they can become who they want to be.
When children's lives are in danger from the Global Hunger Crisis, Gaza crisis, or the COVID-19 crisis in India, we have to act quickly.
