Story
On 14th April 2019 Danny and Joe Browne will be running the Paris Marathon with Russ Lamb and Dean Graham running the London Marathon on 28 April 2019.
We wanted to use this opportunity to raise awareness and some money for the Sepsis Trust, as we were all relative unaware of what Sepsis was until it seriously affected close friends.
Shortly after the giving birth to their son, our friend suffered with sepsis, which can lead to multiple organ failure and death. Sepsis is a leading cause of maternal death in women in the UK, our friend was successfully treated but many more aren’t so lucky.
Sepsis accounts for 52,000 deaths annually in the UK, that’s more than breast cancer, bowel cancer and prostate cancer put together. Sepsis is the acute bodily reaction to infection. Symptoms initially present as flu like but can rapidly deteriorate into a life threatening condition. Yet with early diagnosis, it can be treated with antibiotics.
We really hope to help raise awareness, thank you for your support!
