I will be climbing the Snowdonia Mountain, on the 30th August 2021, two days prior to leaving for Cairo.

This page has been set-up by Darul Qurra IRC upon request of our friends, family and students to raise funds to support the orphaned children and widow of our Noble Shaykh Abu Asim Abd al-Shāfi al-Badawi al-Azhari (ra) who, due to the Divine Decree of Allah Almighty, passed away a few moments after suddenly feeling chest pains on Sunday 22nd August 2021.

Shaykh Abd al-Shāfi (ra) was an inherently pious and virtuous man who had dedicated his entire life to teaching the Glorious Qur’an and its Sciences.

Whilst he may have been decorated and recognised widely as a leading expert and reciter and teacher across Egypt and further afield, he chose to lead a very simple and humble life, cultivating his land and herding animals in his spare time when he wasn’t teaching.

Shaykh Abd al-Shāfi’s passing leaves a great void behind, most notably for his family: his 5 year old son and 2 daughters aged between 10-14 and their mother.

At this very distressful and painful time, this page has been set up help and aid the family, and also in the hope it goes some way in alleviating them from the anguish of financial restraints that they are now likely to face without their father.

All proceeds will go directly to them, so it is hoped and anticipated everyone will donate generously, especially those who’ve benefited from Shaykh Abd al-Shāfi (ra) either is Egypt or during their tenure as a teacher in the UK.
