Event: The Rotary Club of Abingdon Vesper - Dragon Boat Day 2011, on 15 May 2011

Story

Welcome to the donations page for the ABSL Dragon Boat team, Space Pirates.

The money raised to pay for our team's entry will go to charity - ABSL is paying the £495 entry fee and we as a team will match it, and maybe even raise more. Teams have rasied £2,000 in the past.

Two thirds of the money will go to the Japan tsunami appeal of the British Red Cross. As well as being a humanitarian disaster this catastrophe has affected many of the employees of our main component supplier, Sony, and this is our way of showing our support. We may be able to focus our efforts by asking for inside knowledge of where the best places are to send the funds. The remaining third will go to charities chosen by the organisers including Helen & Douglas House; Sensory Garden at Abingdon Hospital and international projects.

Anyway, please support us by giving an ammount of your choosing, however large or small.
