Story
Friends,
You may remember that 'St Peter's Hospice' cared for Sarah in her last two, difficult, weeks. Once I'd got myself back together volunteering for them became an important part of my life.
I've done this for eight years and recently, with things returning to some normality, I'd signed up to do my usual for events like this challenge; marshalling at the women's Midnight Walk, stewarding of car parks, crowd directing and or collection bucket holding* but then thought, what the heck.........
………I’ll have just turned 70, I'll give it a go!
All Bristolians have a vested interest in keeping the Hospice afloat so that it is still there when they or their loved ones need it. It has continued throughout the pandemic but, as their shops were closed and all the fund raising events cancelled, with a drastically reduced income.
As Tesco tells us, "Every little helps" but don't feel obliged to make a donation but do feel free to come and watch and chuck some coppers in my bucket while you remember Sarah.

(For the engineers, scientists and weirdos amongst you - and I know who you are and I know you'll be thinking it - the fall would take 4.36 seconds and I would hit the pavement at 88.53 mph)
*Grateful thanks to Esther and Hayley for their tireless support in helping my achieve my NVQ Grade 1 in Collection Bucket Holding.
