Story
I'm running the 2022 Cardiff Half Marathon on Sunday 2 October in memory of my lovely mum, mental health is not something we always want to talk about, but help from charities like mind is so important for those suffering, and for their families. Every year, one in four of us will experience a mental health problem. But hundreds of thousands of people are struggling.
From personal experience life whilst suffering mental health is such a challenge and is isolating when faced alone. I've noticed that in the last few years mental health is talked about alot more, and this must continue.
I lost my mum in 2014, not actually from a direct result of mental health, but for at least 13 years my mum had suffered with severe mental health problems which effected us daily. Mind helps and supports those suffering from various mental health illnesses, including anxiety and panic attacks, Body dysmorphic disorder (BDD), Depression, Drugs - recreational drugs & alcohol, Eating problems, Loneliness, Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), Self-harm, sleep disorders and more! The work this charity does is just amazing, they provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding. They won't give up until everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets support and respect and this is why I have chosen to raise money for Mind.
Thank you so much to everyone for supporting me 🌻💛💜💚🐘xxxxx
