Story
I will, be running 26.2 miles in the 2020 London Marathon for the MS Society. My friends will know I have been twittering about running a marathon for years, and I am not going to lie I am very nervous, and have been putting off posting this as it makes it real.
For those of you that know me, you will know this is a charity very close to my heart, as my lovely mum, who I am privileged to help look after has suffered with this illness for pretty much all of my life. I have watched this painful illness take away my mum's mobility over the past few years. From walking with sticks she is now pretty much confined to a wheelchair, however I am pleased to report she remains sharp as a tack, she has this crazy idea I can push her round the marathon in a wheelchair (I only wish I could). Mum and I have been part of the Clitheroe MS group for many years, I'd like to say this involves lots of charitable deeds but actually it involves roaming the Ribble Valley on the little green bus with other members, and trying out many eateries. It is a privilege to be part of this inspirational uncomplaining group but saddening to watch our friends struggle with the illness and sometimes to lose them to it.
The MS Society do great work in providing information, support and services to people living with MS, and fund millions in research each year, and I do believe that the work it does really counts.
If you can support me by sponsoring me I would be extremely grateful and appreciative.
Please support me and let's stop MS together.
