Story
Last December, Jenny died after a year-long struggle with bowel cancer. She had been diagnosed just a few months after her beautiful wedding.
I am fundraising for Bowel Cancer UK because Jenny was determined to use her experience to help others. The last time I saw her, at Sobell House Hospice in Oxford, she spoke to me passionately about the poor diagnosis of bowel cancer in younger people, the lack of funding for the NHS in general and inequity in access to cancer treatments. But we also had a good laugh.
So here I am, swimming a mile in freezing cold water to remember Jenny and to help people like her in the future, so that people like me in the future don't have to lose their beloved, hilarious, ridiculous, brilliant friends.
Jenny and her family can tell the story of her illness better than I can – please follow the link below to read about it.
