Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page and reading my story.
This September I am taking on the challenge of running the Great North Run (13.1miles) for Heart Research UK.
Why Heart Research UK?
Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the world. Our hearts are designed to power our body throughout the whole of our life. But sometimes Heart disease can affect that.
In 2015 I lost my Grandad to a sudden heart attack and never got to say goodbye. I've wanted to do this for a long time but after having to do Cpr on a stranger in cardiac arrest and being unable to save him, I decided this year was the year! From these events and having family and friends around me suffer from heart disease, I decided I want to be a part of something to help. I'm running and raising money to help Heart Research UK conduct life saving research into identifying heart disease earlier! For the prevention, treatment and cure of heart disease.
Heart Research UK is an amazing charity that conducts research into congenital, chronic and sudden heart problems. Thanks to Heart Research UK more than 70% of people who suffer a heart attack survive today. 80% of babies born with a heart defect live! But there is still so much more to research, to improve those statistics even more. To detect and treat heart disease earlier. To take steps and learn how to look after our hearts. To stop the heartbreak that losing a loved one to heart disease causes. Together we can help!
In memory of everyone who has ever been affected by heart disease. For you! And for the future of us all! I hope I make you's proud!
