Lumos is fighting for every child’s right to have a family. There are over 5.4 million children trapped in institutions globally. These intuitions severely harm a child's physical and mental development. We are fighting for every child's right to grow up at home, in a safe and loving family.

DISCLAIMER #1: I do not have a history with running (other than for the bus). Therefore I am not aiming for anywhere near an impressive time.

Lumos work to change education, health and social care systems so all children and families can access the care and protection they deserve, aleviating the risk of vulnerable children being trafficked into orphanages and other forms of exploitation.

Eight million children live in orphanages and other institutions globally. More than 80% are not orphans but have been separated from their families because of poverty, disibility, discrimination, conflict and natural disaster. Orphanages harm children, exposing them to all forms of abuse and trafficking, and are not necessary if the right support systems are in place for vulnerable families.

DISCLAIMER #2: Lumos Foundation ALWAYS operate a 100% pledge on ALL donations - this means that 100% of your donation – every single penny, will go directly to helping children and their families. Thanks to the generous support of J.K. Rowling and others, 100% of the money you give to Lumos will go directly to Lumos projects and NOT to overhead or administrative costs. (i.e. you are not inadvertently paying my salary by giving to this fundraiser...)
