Abigail's 10 Mile Bike Ride

In November 2020, our family received the news no family ever wants to hear; that Grandma's cancer had returned and palliative care was now the only option we had. We were clearly devastated, confused and didn't know which way to turn. We decided to contact the well known Cancer Support Charities for help.
Macmillan Cancer Support put us in touch with a small charity called East Cheshire Hospice. We were unsure at first, as we all wanted Grandma to stay at home, rather than live in a hospice, however we contacted the charity to find out more. The charity explained they had an offering called 'Hospice At Home'. This would allow Grandma to live at home with Auntie Kellee and Uncle Dave and the charity would offer high-quality care and support to Grandma.
The team looked after Grandma, providing tailored care for our specific and changing needs, offering daily and even hourly support. The East Cheshire Hospice at Home team always made Grandma feel special and treated our family with good humour and dignity right up to the end. This allowed our family precious extra time together.
We will always be grateful to the Carers at East Cheshire Hospice at Home. They are the most selfless special group of individuals we know.
We are raising money for East Cheshire Hospice so the charity can continue to support families just like ours who are faced with the worst possible situation. The charity needs £7,500 each day to keep the service available and every penny raised goes directly to providing this service. Thank you for donating to support our cause.
