Story
Hey everyone. So as many of you will know by now, my name is Abi, I am a little bit mad and I do like a good challenge and so I have set myself the challenge of running a 2K run dressed as a super hero for Katherine House Hospice on Sunday 6th October. I am doing this for causes close to my own heart, and also for everybody who suffers with crippling, incureable and/or debilitating illnesses. Some illnesses are visible. Some are not. Katherine House Hospice look after with people who suffer with a wide range of illnesses, such as Cancer, Respiratory Disorders, Motor Neurone Disease, Heart Failure, etc but it is not just the patients they take care of! Its their families too. I'm running this race for everybody who suffers with major illness and for their families. One of the only things I know about my dad is that he had Multiple Schlerosis. This is another illness which KHH helps to change the lives of patients who live with this disease. I'm running for everybody I know who suffers or who has had their life touched in anyway by illness whether it be themselves or a loved one. If you'd like to sponsor me that would be great but don't feel obliged to! I have a just giving page and plenty of sponsor forms.
Every £12 raised could provide 1 hour of nursing care, pain management or even just a listening ear and a cup of tea.
Every £25 raised could provide 1 hour of emotional and psychological support for a patient in their own home. This 1 hour of support can take a huge weight off a families shoulders. It can even enable a family to be together at the end of a loved ones life.
Without carrying on the list, every penny really does count and DOES change lives and make them much happier and more comfortable.
