Story
I am lucky enough to have been given the opportunity to run my first ever marathon in London this year to raise funds for an amazing charity which supports blind and visually impaired people to be active and play sport.
By supporting my journey you will allow British Blind Sport to continue the amazing work they do organising sporting competitions and events. They also provide support and education to clubs and schools to enable partially sighted athletes to compete in a variety of sports.
Last year I attended the world para athletic championships in London with my son and was so impressed by the visually impaired track runners and javelin throwers we saw compete. They really were inspirational.
I started running at my local parkrun a couple of years ago and have gradually built up my speed and distance, entering 10k races and then 3 half marathons last year. London marathon has always been my dream. I started marathon training with my husband in autumn last year and I’m gradually increasing my mileage each week hoping to be up to 20 miles by early March. Watch this space and I’ll report back on how the training is going...
Thanks for taking the time to read this, any donation you could give me to this great cause would be so appreciated. Abi x
