Breif outline below.

This Grade 2 listed building has stood still in time, as beautiful as it is on the outside, it was not the same on the inside. I have been working closely with the project team over the last several years, to renovate the interior structure and layout to best suit the needs of modern day challenges and requirements, to provide the community with a central hub for everyone’s well being. The project got underway in 2019, and much has changed for the better internally already.

There are 4 new floors (only had 3 floors previously), new toilets on 3 floors,  new kitchen, dedicated floor for ladies only, more class room space and prayer facilities, as well as a purpose built mortuary. Incorporated in the building is a brand new lift (never had one previously) to allow access for disabled or wheelchair users. 

I’m passionate about the project which will see a host of services open to the whole community, including meeting rooms for outside agencies, a multi faith centre with a library within, to name a few.

In a time of national health pandemic, we need a point of focus and guidance to breakdown the lack of social interaction, this central hub would provide services to those who need the help, whether its just someone to listen, or to help and guide the wider community for the betterment. This project will see the Town gain a much needed point of focus and empowerment, working from one central hub.

The funds raised by everyone will be used towards the completion of the interior reconstruction of the whole building, including the ground floor which is the dedicated Ladies area.This will include a prayer area, wuzhu facilities and the children's creche area, insha Allah.
