Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my MS marathon challenge JustGiving page.
The London Marathon is something I've always wanted to do since a little girl… unfortunately 15 years on I'm still little but considerably more unfit!
The marathon also gives me the opportunity to raise money for a charity very close to my heart.
Some of you may not know this but my mum was diagnosed with MS over 10 years ago now. In that time she's been through ups and downs, in and out of hospital, and has had to adapt to a different way of life. Without a doubt however, she would not be doing as well as she is now without having the opportunity to be on a drug that transformed her ability to carry out day to day living - that and the inspirational strength and determination she's shown throughout.
It is through the likes of the MS society that this research can be carried out, drugs can be discovered, and quality of life improved. Not only this but the MS society do a great deal to help to support those who are affected by this often debilitating disease.
So without further ado, in my 30th year I want to challenge myself physically and mentally (the way my mum has had to when facing her own challenges), whilst of course taking this opportunity to raise money for such a great cause. I'm starting from scratch - 5k, 10k, half marathon, then full marathon, all within the year…(I don’t even do “running”… what am I thinking?!)
Anything at all that you can donate towards the cause will be so gratefully received, and I'll keep you all updated on my progress.
