UPDATE
Thankyou all so much for your support and donations. All massively appreciated by me and by Rowan. I finished it and have had many baths and lots of cake since!
I have worked at Rowan for 19 years and I am not a runner, I dont like running, I would much rather sit on a beach and eat cheese scones. However I feel to mark the nearly 20 years of working at this fabulous charity and my own nearly milestone birthday, 21 obviously(!) I thought I would see what all the fuss was about with this running malarkey and give it a go.
Rowan is a vibrant, independent registered charity providing an arts centre and forest school for more than 80 adults with learning disabilities living in Cambridgeshire and the adjoining counties.Since 1984 we have provided a safe, creative, and enriching environment where the arts are used as a tool to bring people together and tackle social exclusion. We develop the skills and potential of our students while improving their happiness, health and wellbeing. We also deliver much needed respite to families and carers. It costs over £430,000 a year to run Rowan. We receive some income in student fees but rely on fundraising to cover the full cost of our workshops. We believe that people living with a disability should have the same choice, quality of life, opportunities and aspirations as others and with your support we can continue to make this possible.
