Abi and Robyn are doing something great. 

We're leaving the safe buzz of London behind and venturing up to the ominous hills of The North. “Why,” I hear you wonder in awe, “would they do such a perilously precarious thing?” 

Well it’s only to do the Great North Run.

Yep, that's right. 13.1 miles of sheer running painslashjoy, surrounded by the beautiful sights of Newcastle in September. 

Why are we doing this? Well it's partly because we are a tad too easily convinced, and because temporary life goals are “fun”, but mainly it is because we are doing it for a really good cause. Rather than run for the sole purpose of patting ourselves on the back, we are running to raise money for Sense, a charity who support deafblind people.

Deafblind people suffer from a combination of hearing and sight impairments. This can affect people of all ages, including children born with these problems, as well as adults who develop sight and hearing issues later in life. Sense do some really great work to help Deafblind people live as independently as possible. They provide specialist children’s services to support families of Deafblind children, specially designed/ holidays and short breaks, community resource centres, help with tailored accommodation and much more.

This charity really is essential in helping Deafblind people lead as rich a life as you or I, and we want to give Sense as much support as possible. Please donate – a small an amount as you like – and show your support for those less able than you!
