'Rescue Christmas' Appeal

Christmas Appeal · 2 November 2020
Every year, Abergavenny Salvation Army launches a Christmas Appeal to provide toys and food hampers to families who need a little extra help at this time of year. We receive referrals from partner agencies, such as Cyfannol Women's Aid, Mind, Monmouthshire Health Visitors, local schools and others. Last year, we provided hampers to 117 households and gifts for over 140 children. This year, many more people find themselves struggling due to the coronavirus pandemic.
We have already received referrals to provide for over 250 households and 200 children - a record number. We want to Rescue Christmas 2020 for these families and we need your help!
A £15 donation will provide a gift for a child
£30 will cover the cost of a festive food hamper for a large family
This year, instead of giving out hampers and toys bought with your donations, we will be providing vouchers. This approach has been agreed with our partner agencies and will help us protect everyone involved from the threat of the virus. We are excited to be able to offer our recipients more independence over their food hampers and the gifts they purchase for their children. The vouchers will be limited to one store and it will not be possible to use them to buy items such as alcohol and cigarettes.
Thank-you for your support and for helping us rescue Christmas for those in need here in Abergavenny.
