Story
We are taking on the Aberdeen Kiltwalk to raise funds for a charity close to our hearts. Olivia (Liv) has opened our eyes to what true strength, bravery & determination is with such immense grace.
Olivia was born with a defect at the base of her skull and was diagnosed with Cholesteatoma in Oct 2016. Cholesteatoma is an aggressive, invasive, relentless disease for which there is no cure other than surgical intervention. In August 2020 her journey under the care of amazing consultants at Glasgow Children’s Hospital began, when Liv’s disease progressed causing major issues in her brain. So far she has undergone 16 surgical procedures at the tender age of only 10. Olivia’s journey continues with a bumpy road ahead…. she never fails to inspire us all with her strength, courage, zest for life and she is never without a smile! #belikeliv
Each £5000 a team member raises will be topped up by 50% thanks to the generosity of Sir Tom Hunter and The Hunter Foundation. Any donation you can spare will mean the world to us, to Liv and to GCHC. Thank you💜
*UPDATE* 2nd April 2022: Olivia underwent operation number 17 on the 20th March. She is recovering well and also celebrated her 11th birthday last week.
