Help rebuild a school in Bangladesh
Fundraising for Muslim Charity
Fundraising for Muslim Charity
Last Ramadan, through your generous donations and duas, we were able to complete the construction of a purpose built home for a very poor family and two deep tube community water wells in some of the poorest rural areas in Bangladesh, as a form of Sadaqah Jariyah for our late father, Mohammed Abdus Salam (may Allah have mercy on him).
After the recent devastating floods in Bangladesh, lots of livelihood,
schools/madrassahs and homes were destroyed. This Ramadan, we are fundraising to re-build a school that’s been affected by these floods in Zakiganj (Sylhet), Bangladesh, as a Sadaqah Jariyah project for our late father. This school is in Zakiganj upazila, Sylhet district, approximately 98 km way from Sylhet city. The school consists of 2 buildings, one of which has been severely damaged by the recent floods. As the total cost is higher than the target, we are working with another individual help rebuild the school.
Why are we fundraising for a school?
For those that knew/met our father, would know how important education was to him. He would always encourage us, his children, along with all his nieces, nephews and grandchildren, to study hard and further their education. He saw education as an empowering tool for a better life and thus, he would often support and advise everyone in progressing their school studies or their careers, whatever it may be. This is evident as he was a founding member of the Keen Students School (KSS) in Whitechapel – one of the first educational support schools in the UK. He truly embodied the first word that was revealed to our Prophet Muhammed (pbuh): “Iqra” (Read) and would ensure everyone had access to the basic educational facilities.
How will this benefit you and our father?
Our Prophet, Muhammed (pbuh) said: "When a person dies, all their deeds end except three: a continuing charity, beneficial knowledge and a righteous child who prays for them." (Narrated by Muslim)
Helping to fund the construction of a school is a rewarding
act of Sadaqah Jariyah. Every child who can attend school and receive an education will have an opportunity to forge a brighter future. This will lead to increased reward for the donor, multiplied long after the school has been built.
We pray through the rebuild of this school, you along with our
father can gain the ongoing rewards for helping the needy children in
Bangladesh to have access the basic education facilities.
