We fund education for African children to help them break the poverty cycle

Story

All,

Following on from a rather entertaining evening in the pub I have been pressured into doing something for charity.

After much deliberation it was decided that the standard events like sponsored walk/run/swim/hotdog eating have been a little bit overdone of late so the next best I could offer would be to grow my hair to a length of 5cm…. not much I hear you say, but when you consider I will end up looking like this at the end of it you can see where I am coming from.

Bidding started per 1cm of growth and by the end of the night I ended up with £340 from the 7 people for a total growth of 5cm from scalp to top of the fro.  Extra donations are possible for the last day of the event in that if you would like to see me with the fro comb / handlebar moustache or full 70’s clothing you can of course try and persuade me with a kind donation.

Of course I am taking the challenge very seriously in that we have assigned a designated official who will measure the depth each Friday afternoon and photos will be sent out each week for people to see my progress.

There was talk about continuing on the growth until June and I am fully open to this idea should donations reach a significant level.

I look forward to receiving your encouraging, or most probably abusive comments in the street between now and when I reach the magical target.

Kind regards,

Abdi
