On 23^rd February 2007 I am leaving the comforts of my job at Martin & Pole Estate Agents behind to cycle in aid of Cancer Research for ten days.

I have committed myself to this challenge (which is very much tougher than I thought!) which comes in three parts.  First, I have to raise £3,500 for Cancer Research , secondly I have to get through a training programme and thirdly, do the challenge itself (exhausting!).

 

The objective of the challenge is to raise worthwhile funds for Cancer Research .  The money raised by the cycle ride will be put towards research into finding treatments to cure cancer faster, get treatment to patients more quickly and develop accurate and sensitive tests for the prevention and early detection of different types of cancer.  Did you know that every year 120,000 people lose their lives in the country to cancer?

 All this being said, please do not feel pressurised into making a contribution because I understand we cannot give to every charity we are asked to.  But, considering that the majority of us have been affected at some point by the news that a relative or a close friend has been diagnosed with some form of cancer, there’s definitely a worthwhile end to my challenge and every little bit counts.

 

 If you feel you can help me with my fundraising it would be greatly appreciated.  I have personally contributed £1,000 towards the travel expenses.
