Story
Running the London Marathon in October will be a massive personal challenge for me. However, it doesn’t compare to the challenges that my Dad and Jess have faced, being diagnosed with Type 2 and Type 1 Diabetes respectively.
At a time when big event fundraising has been limited, I wanted to help raise funds for a charity who are driving research and providing much needed support to people trying to manage their diabetes.
Dad was diagnosed with type 2 when I was in my late teens, and it has taken such a toll on his body, he spent 10 weeks in hospital last year. Jess was diagnosed with type 1 in the summer and it has been a massive adjustment for her and the family.
Diabetes UK have been a brilliant source of information and support with their helpline and advances in research and I want to do my part by raising as much money as I can to help their work continue.
Any amount you can spare would be gratefully received.
