Story

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Caring Matters Now, we are taking part in the Liverpool - London Trek. Together we will be trekking part of the 25 year Journey of Caring Matters Now, from Liverpool, the birthplace of Caring Matters Now, to London, where the ground-breaking CMN research lab and patient clinic is based. Please sponsor us and help us to continue supporting those that are affected by CMN.

We are walking in honour of my brother/Son Luke who was born with Congenital Melanocytic Naevus (CMN). Luke has endured over 40 operations in his life and we as a family have benefitted from the support  we have received over the years from caring matters now support group. We therefore wanted to take on this challenge to raise more awareness of the condition and raise funds to support other families.  We are also taking on the challenge to help raise vital funds for research at Great Ormond Street hospital to try and find a cure for CMN so that other children dont have to endure the painful operations that Luke has undergone. This is a very important charity to us and our family, and any donations would be hugely appreciated. If you know us or our family on a personal level, you will know what it has been like with Luke growing up with CMN,  when he was born it was unclear what CMN was and it was only really when we came across caring matters now support group that he was diagnosed with CMN as the medical profession 22 years ago didnt know what it was.  We have therefore learnt a lot about the condition through caring matters now, whilst supporting luke through years of difficult  treatment. This support has enabled us as a family to normalise CMN  the best we can and help support Luke to grow up into the inspirational successful man that he has become.  Luke is the person he is today because of CMN  and the strength and resilience he has somehow achieved from the difficulties he has faced  in his life  is a testament to Luke as a person and because of his  journey  we are  therefore very passionate about  helping raise funds to support other children and adults  in his position and helping find a cure for CMN. Thank you in advance for your kind donations, which will help  achieve this aim. Xxx
