Story
For the month of November, I have pledged the challenge of running 150KM in 30 Days come rain or shine. I am taking on this challenge while my auntie continues her battle with cancer and I aim to raise a target of £1000 for The Eve Appeal – raising awareness into the five gynaecological cancers that women are at risk too.
I am putting my body to the test to raise funds while most importantly giving her a daily dose of positivity, as she tracks my progress. I will also certainly be giving her & the family a few surprises along the way that will put a smile on her face.
On Day 10 my lovely Auntie Linda (or Lindy Loo), very sadly lost her battle and we had to say goodbye. Taken far too soon and far too young - I will continue to run for Linda. She meant the world to our family, with the biggest and kindest heart, Lindy Loo always made us laugh and we will forever miss the joy she bought to us all.
The Eve Appeal is the only UK charity dedicated to funding research into the prevention and earlier diagnosis of the five gynaecological cancers – womb, ovarian, cervical, vulval and vaginal. Each year in the UK, over 21,000 women are diagnosed with a gynaecological cancer. That's far too many mothers, wives, daughters, partners and friends. The Eve Appeal’s mission is to ensure that everyone is aware of what to look out for, because recognising gynaecological cancer symptoms can mean an earlier diagnosis and a better outcome.
I would be so so grateful for any donation and would greatly appreciate your support. And please feel free to join me on this pursuit for a virtual run!
