Story
Thanks for taking the time to read this and see what on earth we are doing!!
As you may know dementia is a disease that affects our family and any organisation that helps to prevent and treat it is one we support. The National Brain Appeal does a whole range of great work at one of the world's leading centres for the diagnosis, treatment and care of patients with neurological and neuromuscular conditions. As well as dementia, these include stroke, multiple sclerosis, brain cancer, epilepsy, and Parkinson's disease.
Richard recently became a trustee of this charity, and is dedicated to helping its ongoing work. The least I (Abbi) can do is a (tortuous long 100k non-stop hilly through the night) walk with little training to support this work, especially with the dementia link being close to my ❤️
Why the very specific target of £718? Well in 2019 my mum and I (Abbi) raised £9282 for a campaign called Dementia Revolution (the charity for the London marathon that year) so it would be wonderful to extend it to £10k funds raised in total, to combat dementia. See our story here about the devastating impact dementia has.
