Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I started slimming world on 19th of May 2009 and after 15 weeks I have lost 5st 10lb, to celebrate my weight loss i wanted to do something which would be a challenge to myself and to help raise money for a cause thats close to my family's heart. So after some thinking I have decided to climb scafell pike in spring 2010 for Help for Heros, I chose the charity because my dad, Tony Myers (who is being dragged up scafell with me! poor bloke.) served in the Royal Green Jackets for 22 years (3RGJ), so we both know the fantastic jobs the men and women in the services are doing abroad, and the ones who are unforunate to be injured derserve the very best of care. I am also aiming to hit 10st weight loss before the climb. So please visit the site regulary for updates on my weight loss and the dreaded training!!!! We will be climbing scafell in april/may depending on the weather, so fingers crossed its a mild winter, the sooner the better.

****************UPDATE*******************************8

As of 7th April 2010 i have now lost 9st 5lbs, so fingers crossed i will get the 10st target in time for climbing scafell pike on May 2nd.

MANY THANKS TO ALL, £827 raised all together. Bring on the three peaks next year maybe!!!..................

And a big thankyou to all at Trinity Mirror Printing and Joy Mining/CCL who have pledged nearly £300 between them, Which will be collected and added after the climb.

Please take a look at my photos to see my weight loss so far.

HELP FOR HEROS

The message of the charity is simple: We are strictly non political and non critical; we simply want to help. We believe that anyone who volunteers to serve in time of war, knowing that they may risk all, is a hero. These are ordinary people doing extraordinary things and some of them are living with the consequences of their service for life. We may not be able to prevent our soldiers from being wounded, but together we can help them get better.
