Lisa and Aaron's California Cycle challenge in memory of Jessica Kerr

Hey, Welcome to our fundraising page.
Aaron has some how convinced me in to doing something that I never thought I would do.....We are going to cycle 400 km across California from Yosemite National Park finishing in San Francisco on June 6th 2015!
Having not ridden a bike for a number of years - this is going to be one mighty challenge. Aaron assures me with commitment and a positive attitude, I will be able to take on the hills that the Californian roads have to offer!
In preparation and training for this challenge we have already taken part in the Basingstoke Big wheel charity ride which I think should of been called the Basingstoke Big Hill, this proved that I have a mammoth challenge ahead of me to be able to cycle the average 60 miles per day!
We are doing all this for a special little girl called Jessica Kerr and the fantastic Rainbows Hospice.
Jessica was born with Patau Syndrome, an abnormality where the child has an extra chromosome 13 in every cell.
This often resulted in Jessica forgetting to breathe and turning blue. When this happened her parents, Mel and Simon, would give her oxygen and stimulate her chest, Sometimes Jessica had to be resuscitated up to five times a day.
She was a little fighter, who has given so many people joy, anguish and laughter! She is so very special and loved by all who meet her.
Jess visited Rainbows from when she was a few weeks old and the hospice became a huge part of her life.
Sadly, Jessica passed away in April 2014, She will be sorely missed by many many people.
You can read all of Jessica's story from the following link:
http://www.rainbows.co.uk/the-hospice/family-stories/jessica-kerr/Rainbows is an incredible place that helps relieve symptoms, improve quality of life, support parents and siblings through their bereavement and care for children until the end. Sadly the need for Rainbows will never disappear, but the help such as yours is invaluable if we are to continue to meet this very special need.
Please please donate as little or as much as you can for this awesome charity. ALL your money goes to the charity as this is a self funded challenge by Aaron and myself.
We will update you on our progress with pictures and videos
Many thanks - Lisa and Aaron xx
