Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am running the Ikano Robin Hood Half Marathon in order to help raise awareness and money for Notts County FC Football in the Community.
Notts County FC Football in the Community is a independent community sports charity. Aimed at providing life-changing opportunities, particularly to those in disadvantaged areas; and allowing people to improve their health, skills and confidence.
The charity has been developed to support the following four key community areas:
- Health: delivering a healthy lifestyle, disabilities, weight management and mental health projects to a range of ages, making a huge difference to participants’ long-term health.
- Education: providing five education projects, of which include 50 young people aged 14 to 24, on a full-time basis through alternative provision and sports-based courses. From September 2017 the charity expects to have 100 students registered.
- Social inclusion: projects targeting marginalised groups including boys and men with mental health issues; people with dementia; teenagers at risk of crime or already involved in gangs and youth violence; children in care and offenders, among others.
- Sports participation: promotion of the benefits of sports and activity from a physical, mental and social point-of-view and work with people of all ages, abilities and disabilities to increase sports participation.
