Story
Please note this event has been postponed until October 2021 - After battling years of illness, my Nan was then diagnosed with rapid onset dementia. The decline in her personality was so fast and shocking that it made a lasting impact on me. In effect, sadly, we lost her before she passed away. She was always laughing and never let anything get her down, which is what made the change so shocking to me. Eventually she lost the ability to speak, which is what I found really hard. This illness will affect so many of us in the future and I think its important that we raise as much money as possible, in order to help this charity carry out the research that is necessary.
Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
