Story
Day 2 about to begin. If I can manage to drag myself out of bed that is.
Hi Everyone,
Thank you so much for taking the time to look at my JustGiving page.
A little over 10 years ago I discovered a lump on one of my testicles. Checking myself was something I had done regularly for a couple of years, in fact since my Mum had been diagnosed with breast cancer a few years before. Fortunately, because I discovered things fairly early, treatment was quick and relatively hassle free. I, like my Mum before me, was treated at The Christie in South Manchester.
After The Christie helped both my Mum and me, I feel that I owe them something. Not only did they treat our conditions but they also supported our family through those very scary and difficult times. I need to pay them back.
As a small thank you to The Christie I would like to raise as much money as I can for them by completing a challenge. So what have I decided to do? Well, some people have suggested playing Xbox for 24 hours, but I rejected that. I do that anyway and I wanted to do something that was challenging. So I have decided to cycle from Hornsea to Southport along the Trans Pennine Trail. The distance is over 200 miles and I plan to start on April 6th 2013 and finish on April 9th 2013.
The Christie are leading experts in cancer treatment, research and education and every year 40,000 people are treated by the 2000 dedicated staff. They can only continue to help those affected by cancer, both now and in the future, with your support.
The Christie helped us and I know all of my family will be eternally grateful to them for all of their hard work. To this day we have had many family friends pass through The Christie as they continue to help people through their own fights against cancer.
Please give what you can; it all helps the fight against Cancer.
Thanks
Aaron xx
