Story
The challenge has been set to run 100km to raise money and most importantly awareness of mental health.
The recent loss of a family member only a few weeks ago has inspired this challenge. In his memory the final leg of the run will be being completed to the Etihad stadium as he was a life long Manchester City fan.
This run will also be a little different to the usual as friends and family have been asked to join in and chat about all things mental health to remove the stigma that is attached.
Throughout the 100km run I will be sharing my own personal battle and story that I have had with mental health and how I managed to overcome this battle. This is a story that I personally have never discussed with anybody outside my own family before. The hope is that by sharing my own story and battles I can help or even maybe save another persons life.
If you would like to join in on the run or would like to share your own personal stories of mental health that can be shared then please don't hesitate to contact.
Parts of the run and chats will be being filmed to then be able to share across all social media platforms to help and reach as many people as possible who maybe struggling.
Manchester Mind is an independent, local charity, which supports over 6,500 children, young people and adults each year. We believe that everyone deserves to be supported in their mental health needs and we have a part to play in that. Our charity values the commitment of our staff and volunteers, who work hard to ensure services are delivered in a way that enables people to feel heard and involved. Donations and help from our fantastic supporters make a real difference, so thank you for being part of our success this year.
