Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In April 2023 I will be running both the Brighton and Manchester Marathons in memory of my friend Dan Franklin who sadly lost his battle with a brain tumour In November 2021.
Dan was an absolutely brilliant friend, he had a great sense of humor and the ability to make us all laugh with his unique storytelling style. Dan was a naturally gifted gamer, he'd happily beat you at any game any time from something as simple as Uno to any massive online game he would find a way to win and enjoy it. He's greatly missed by his family and friends and its been a help to me to be able to talk about him and our shared experiences laugh about the extravagant stories he would tell or a on edge joke he made.
Over the 14 years of friendship shared with Dan he never let up with his attempts to wind me up about all things football, Dan as an avid Chelsea fan upon hearing any sniff of bad news about Leeds would proceed to blow up my phone with messages. Even towards the autumn of 2021 when things became tough again for Dan I'd still be receiving multiple updates a week from him on every angry Leeds fan phoning into talksport or after a bad defeat the same jabbing "things are looking tough" message which always hit its mark and ensured a bite back from me, It's weird the things you come to miss!
I know he would probably absolutely hate the idea of anyone doing a fundraising effort in his honour or memory it was never his preference to be center stage, but I feel its important to support the organisations that can help and progress treatment for those who find themselves in a similar situation to Dan in the present and future.
I along with my friend Jordan are aiming to raise as much towards the £2,740 Target as possible. £2740 is the amount needed to fund one days worth of brain tumour research. Any support you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
