Story
With 1 in 4 of us now experiencing a mental health problem at some point in our lives, this January I'll be taking part in RED January to get active every day. Our fitness and fundraising efforts combined with your generosity will go a long way in helping continue Minds life-changing work.
This is a cause very close to my heart and I'll be fundraising for Mind in Bradford... for a little context, I also work here and every day I see the ways in which our team help those who need us.
From supporting some one in crisis to stay safe in the moment and out of hospital, to working alongside individuals to help them manage a mental health struggle and support them to live fulfilling lives, your generous donation can help in so many ways;
£6 would keep our telephone helpline open for an hour, providing advice and information to someone struggling to cope, or who is worried about someone they know
£15 would cover the cost of an induction session for 3 individuals to help them find the wellbeing programme which best suits their needs for a successful long term recovery to wellbeing
£30 would cover the cost of food and ingredients for our social zone, encouraging people to first care for their basic needs, share and learn skills and forge new friendships
£250 would provide 10 individual crisis counselling sessions for someone experiencing mental distress, often as a supportive alternative to hospital
I won't lie... this RED January malarkey is going to be gross... the weather's grim, running makes me nauseous and burpees are surely sent from the Devil himself AND YET I am determined to get up and out and do this.
I've roped a few friends in for added accountability and your kind donations will help to spur me and others on through the grimmest time of year. So let's start as we mean to go on folks (coz also, did I mention I'll be doing ToughMudder in summer... Lord help me)
Together we can make sure no-one has to face a mental health problem alone. Thank you 💙
