Story
Beat is the UK's eating disorder charity and is widely recognised as the go-to for information and support for eating disorders. It exists to help end the pain and suffering caused by eating disorders to sufferers, as well as friends and family who are also affected.
Beat campaigns for positive change to help those suffering get the support and treatment they deserve as quickly as possible. It does awareness training in schools and workplaces. Beat's Helpline is open 365 days a year to offer advice and support to those who need it and for many, contacting Beat is the first step towards recovery.
Beat receives no funding from central government and is entirely reliant on its supporters.
So 7 of us have decided to jump out of a plane on Saturday 14th March- just after Eating Disorders Awareness Week- to raise some much need money for Beat and awareness about eating disorders.
Please donate what you can to help us meet our target. Here's what donations can achieve in the Helpline:
- £6 could help a Helpline Advisor respond to an email from someone worried about their loved one.
- £16 could support a Helpline Advisor to answer a call, giving guidance and support to someone that urgently needs it.
- £52 could help support four people in one of the online support group sessions, giving sufferers and their families positive encouragement from others experiencing the same feelings.
- £1200 could help run the Helpline Services for one day, supporting carers and sufferers of all ages and backgrounds when they need it most.
