Once again, our Kashmiris brothers and sisters are suffering, through no fault of their own. An Earthquake measuring 5.5 units on the rector scale has hit Kashmir and Pakistan on 24 September 2019 causing widespread damage.

Hi all, as you may have seen from my profile and various posts from the past few days. There was a devastating earthquake in Kashmir in the locality where my family are from. Many of our relatives were affected by this devastation.

But my plea is not for my relatives, but is for the whole community that was affected. My plan was not to do any charity fundraising in the coming year as I have asked many of you for your contributions this year. BUT, this is too close to my heart to not do anything.

I am running the Yorkshire Marathon in 3 weeks time, and would appreciate for all your contributions to aid all the relief work in the whole community. I am personally and humbly grateful for you reading and I hope there is something that you can do to help our community in Kashmir

I would be utterly grateful if you could share with your friends and family and make people aware of the situation and any contributions will be appreciated

About the charity

Kashmir Relief & Development Foundation (KRDF) is a UK- based (Waltham Forest) registered charity that provides free education in remote areas of Kashmir. Established in 2005 after the devastating earthquake that left over 70,000 people dead and almost all education infrastructure destroyed, we have successfully built schools for children, helped thousands of women by providing them free vocational training and have helped many remote areas by providing fresh water supply. OUR MISSION: KRDF strives to empower individuals especially those who are in dire need of help by providing them with quality education. We aim to be at the forefront of empowering women and helping to make them self reliant. We also endeavour to transform lives by improving access to safe water in remote areas. We identify remote areas in Kashmir and develop facilities to educate the children to the best standard possible.
