In June 2015 I will be volunteering in Senegal for 10 weeks with Y Care International as part of International Citizens Service (ICS) which is a programme designed for young people to work together on development projects in an effort to reduce the effects of poverty and war.

ICS works with communities who have specifically asked for their help and also aims to inspire young people within the UK and overseas to become active citizens passionate about long term community development. This is an amazing opportunity which will give me the chance to help the communities in Senegal and change their lives for the better.

I need to raise at least £800 for Y Care International which is one of a number of respected development charities participating in ICS. This allows them to continue doing the amazing work they do in communities around the world. I plan on taking part in lots of activities such as the Live below the Line challenge and a 48 hour fast. You can keep track of what I do and how I get on here on my Justgiving page or on Facebook.

Any contribution you can make will provide a real difference to the lives of the people in Senegal and is extremely appreciated! Please note that NONE of the funds I raise are used for my flights, accommodation, visas etc and donations go directly to the charity Y Care International.
