Story
CDH Australia is a very close cause to our hearts, as our very own, Zoey and Abby, were diagnosed with CDH through pregnancy. Our 2 beautiful girls have been through hell and back, as have our families, along the CDH journey. The only Australian charity supporting families affected by the rare birth condition, congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH). CDH means being born with a hole in the diaphragm, and affects 1 in 2,500 births. This week, 2 families will receive a CDH diagnosis. The fatality rate is 50%. Families are shattered by the loss of their child. CDH survivors face ongoing health complications, like Zoey and Abby have. Zoey has been through 2 repairs and Abby has been through 1. This can take its toll on little bodies but these little fighters have come out the other end, even with ongoing medical issues they are 2 of the happiest girls we know! For a family receiving a CDH diagnosis, fear and anxiety can be overwhelming. We fund research, deliver education, provide support services and deliver hope. The support we have received through CDH Australia has been amazing and this is the least we can do to help them the way they have helped us!
