Story

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am walking 10.5 miles on Sunday 5th September 2010 in order to raise money for the Frenchay Hospital CFS/ME Specialist Service ("The 22 Fund"): one of 14 specialist centres in the UK for the development of clinical services for people diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/ME.

Anthony is very kindly walking with me - apparently his role in this is something like a cross between a sherpa and Norris McWhirter!

I’m doing this 10.5 mile sponsored walk for the following reasons:

The Frenchay Hospital CFS/ME Service supported me during my recent illness and now I am walking to raise money to support them in helping other people diagnosed with CFS/ME.

To give hope to people who are currently experiencing similar symptoms, that it is possible to fully recover and live life to the full.

Because just over a year ago, this would have been impossible, so it seems like a good way to celebrate my recovery.

The route itself is a celebration, taking in the places where I went for treatment during my illness - at that time I had to be driven to these places, but now I am going to walk all the way! I am walking from home to Frenchay hospital and then to the Chiron Centre where I attended the Lightning Process course - 10.5 miles!
