Story
Hi,
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This year I am raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support. I usually run to raise money but this time I’m trekking…. 26 miles no less!! So this is a big change for me and I know it’s going to be a massive challenge. Anyway putting my sore feet and black toe nails aside the most important point here is the charity I am raising money for. Macmillan are an amazing charity and they are there for everyone affected by cancer.
One in three of us will get cancer and it’s the toughest thing most of us will ever face. The number of people with cancer is growing every day. Macmillan want to reach and improve the lives of every one of those people.
If you’ve been diagnosed with cancer, or a loved one has, you’ll want a team of people in your corner supporting you every step of the way.
Macmillan are a source of support, helping with all the things that people affected by cancer want and need. It's not only patients who live with cancer, Macmillan also help carers, families and communities. They guide people through the system, supporting them every step of the way. Funding nurses and other specialist health care professionals and by building cancer care centres. But they give so much more than medical help.
People need practical support at home, so they provide anything from some precious time off for a carer, to a lift to hospital. People need emotional support, so they listen, advise and share information through their own cancer support specialists, website and trained professionals. People need financial help to cope with the extra costs cancer can bring, so they give benefits advice, and grants for anything from heating bills to travel costs. Together Macmillan listen, they learn….. Macmillan act to help people live with cancer.
So please donate whatever you can, support this incredibly worthy charity and help my toe nails drop off....
Thank you,
Zoe xxx
