Story
My best friend Daniella and I are taking part in this year’s Virgin Money London Marathon on behalf of National Animal Welfare Trust.
There is a special reason as to why we are running the London Marathon this year. My lovely dad Barney has very recently been diagnosed with stage four oesophageal cancer. Since both our dad’s completed the London Marathon previously, we would like to honour this achievement by completing the marathon ourselves. This year is particularly poignant as it is exactly 20 years since they ran their first London Marathon together in 2001 – we can’t wait for them both to see us cross the finish line 20 years on, and to fundraise for a fantastic charity at the same time.
Together we are on a mission to raise a combined donation of £3k for NAWT – a fantastic charity which is responsible for rehoming up to 1300 animals every year, a cause that is also very close to our hearts.
Please support us on this incredible journey – we thank you for any donations!
About NAWT:
National Animal Welfare Trust is a Rescue and Rehoming charity. We care for animals who find themselves homeless through no fault of their own, bring them back to good health, train them and finally find them a loving forever home. We never stop caring and are here as long as an animal needs us, offering continued support to everyone that rehomes a pet. Our mission is to promote responsible pet ownership throughout the UK so that one day every pet might have the responsible owner they deserve.
