Story
I don't claim any super-fan status for David Bowie. Like so many people,
I enjoyed a lot of his music (surely part of the soundtrack to most of
our childhoods) and in particular, loved the way his singular, evolving
style reflected and influenced the wider cultural landscape on these
shores and beyond. I guess that's why I ended up designing this headband and mitts called 'Ziggy' a couple of years back.
What's been clear, reading the comments and blogs of many people I like and admire since the news of his death, is that he meant a huge amount to a lot of people, for reasons from the light-hearted to the profound.
With that in mind, there's no way I'd be releasing this pattern to make money. I've put it up on Ravelry http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/ziggy-headband as a free download, but I'm asking for people to donate to Macmillan Cancer Care here- or to the cancer care charity of their choice if they prefer.
Please give what you can, then visit http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/ziggy-headband or http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/ziggy-mittsto download your pattern (pattern contains both headband and mitts), or contact me to email you a copy.
