Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On the 29th August 2012 I’m going to be dragged up Ben Nevis by Gym-Jim my fitness loving Fiancé.
Earlier this year we walked up Snowdon and I think the altitude and weather must have gotten to me, as when we came down after a wonderful day of sunshine, snow, hail, torrential rain and everything in between. I thought that it would be a good idea to tackle something just a little bigger!?!. So here we go..
As an extra incentive to get me to the top (beside Jim cracking the whip behind me), I thought it would be nice to try and raise some money for Marie Curie Cancer Care. Plus it means I can wear a daft daffodil on my head and also force Jim into wearing a bluebell on his, Photo’s will follow!! J. (Jim’s charity is Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice) http://www.justgiving.com/jim-greaves
Marie Curie has 2,000 nurses in the UK and last year they worked for 1,200,000 hours caring for terminally ill patients, including half of all cancer patients who die at home. So please dig deep and help towards the £10,000 that is needed every hour of every day to carry on their amazing work.
Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice does absolutely wonderful work for children with reduced life expectancy. The hospice costs £3 million a year to run and with no statutory government funding, rely heavily on donations.
I’m sure you’ll agree that both charities are very worthwhile causes and every single penny helps. So once again PLEASE give whatever you can..
Many many thanks to you all.
