A different kind of 40th... 🥳
As many of you already know we found out last year that our beautiful little girl Ayla has Autism. ❤️
After almost a decade to suddenly learn that you have a child with a disability you know nothing about was a total shock to say the least.
Having to watch your child constantly struggle knowing that no matter how hard you try you're not able to make everything better for them is absolutely heartbreaking.
As Ayla's Mum I've never felt more determined to show my amazing little girl that she can use her Autism as her superpower rather than something that will ever hold her back in life. 🦸♀️⚡️
I want to show her that no matter how hard a challenge may be you can find a way to overcome it and so whether I'm setting a really good example to her or having a midlife crisis lol I don't know but I've decided that I'm going to spend the next 18 months leading up to my 40th birthday challenging myself in every way possible to raise awareness and as much money as I can for the National Autistic Society including running the 2024 London Marathon! 🏃♀️
Running is my absolute nemesis 🙈 so it's safe to say this really is a huge personal challenge for me ... I certainly won't be setting any land speed records 🐢😂 but I will be giving it everything I've got.
The National Autistic Society is an incredible charity that gives vital support to Autistic people and their families in the UK as well as helping to transform lives, change attitudes and create a society that works for all Autistic people.
I totally appreciate that times are tough just now but if you are in a position to make a small donation for such an amazing charity then I would be so, so grateful 🙏
I'll be sharing all of my journey, fundraising events and progress along the way so please wish me lots of luck lol! 🍀
Happy 40th birthday to me lol 🙈🥳
