Story
Next February I fly to Canada's frozen north to compete in the Yukon Arctic Ultra. Covering 430 miles of remote sub-arctic wilderness, the Yukon Arctic Ultra has a serious claim to being the coldest and toughest race in the world.
With temperatures hitting as low -50 degrees celsius in previous years, frostbite and hypothermia will be a constant threat as I race from Whitehorse to Dawson City - pulling roughly 25kg of provisions behind me on a pulk and sleeping out on the trail. Competitors can race on foot, fat-bike, or cross country skis to the finish. I will be competing in the foot category and it may take up to 13 days to finish the race.
I have decided to raise money for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. It may surprise you to know that the Yorkshire Air Ambulance Charity relies solely on the generosity of individuals and organisations to help save lives across Yorkshire - needing to raise £12,000 a day to stay operational. Any donation you make will be much appreciated.
