Story
As both a children and adults fitness instructor I am passionate about providing sport and active opportunities to all. It therefore seemed natural on hearing about the Actvity Alliance that I choose them to raise money for.
The Activity Alliance (previously known as the English Federation of Disability Sport) join members, partners and disabled people to make active lives possible. Together, they challenge perceptions and change the reality of disability, inclusion and sport.
I was introduced to the Activity Alliance by a friend and fellow volunteer Rich Harris who, as a freelance photographer that regularly works with this charity, has seen first hand the AMAZING and INSPIRING work they do to make sport fully inclusive for all. Rich will be running the London Marathon for the Activity Alliance in April 2020.
Therefore as joint venture to raise as much money as possible.... I will be dancing a marathon on 21st March 2020 and Rich will be running a marathon on 26th April 2020!
Through delivering back to back dance fitness sessions to both adults and children throughout the day I intend to dance the distance of a marathon in a day. This should be approximately 8-9 hours of dancing. You can support this venture either through
- sponsoring me via this page for dancing the marathon distance
- making a a donation when you or your child attends one of the dance fitness sesisons throughout the day.
Thank you in advance for your support.
Activity Alliance brings organisations and disabled people together to make active lives possible. Established in September 1998, the national charity looks to a future where everyone can achieve more through increased opportunities and choice. We work with so many amazing people and are proud to be at the centre of influential world-renowned programmes for disabled people. Our vision is that disabled people are active for life, but the stark reality is that disabled people in England are twice as likely as non-disabled people to be inactive.
