Yorkshire Cat Rescue exists to save the lives of abandoned or unwanted cats and kittens across Yorkshire and beyond. YCR operates a no-kill policy and neuters all cats and kittens before rehoming. YCR receives no central funding and has to fundraise to meet its vet, food and heating bills etc.

Story

On 11 October 2015 a team of six of Yorkshire Cat Rescue's fosterers are running in the Yorkshire Marathon to raise funds towards a Kitty Ambulance.

Our target is £7000 which will contribute towards the cost of a dedicated ambulance van.  Please support us in our relay by donating and sharing our page with your friends.  You can also donate by texting AMBU74 £3 to 70070.

We aim to raise the money towards the purchase of a dedicated vehicle that is fitted out properly for transporting cats and kittens  comfortably and safely to and from the vets, and when required to collect and rescue cats and kittens from dangerous or emergency situations.  It would also be good to have all the equipment necessary stowed in there ready for use.

Currently these trips are made in Yorkshire Cat Rescue's large van which is also used for fundraising, our charity shops and transporting rubbish - it is big and scary for the cats and sometimes not available at short notice.  A smaller dedicated van would eliminate these problems.
