Story
Dear York House families,
This half term, we are going to support this local charity helping Ukrainians still in their country and those that have been displaced and are now residents in Chorleywood. Compellingly, one of the founders is an old Yorkist, Pierre Bosdet, and another, Taissia
Rantiuk is the aunt of three Ukrainian children currently studying at York House.
I have given more detail about their amazing efforts below, and please do look at their website https://www.cafukr.org/home, which includes details on the goods that they need at the moment, e.g. bedding, kitchenware, etc. and where these items can be dropped
off, (they also offer a pick-up service). It also includes many images from Ukraine, illustrating their valuable work and its impact.
Thank you in advance for supporting Chorleywood Aid for Ukraine.
Mrs Scott
Head of Charitable Activities
Background information about
Chorleywood Aid for Ukraine
Chorleywood Aid for Ukraine charity was started shortly after the Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24th 2022, becoming a UK-registered charity on July 7th 2022.
They collect both cash donations and goods and assist genuine charitable operations near Kyiv, Ukraine, with an emphasis on children
with additional needs, orphans, displaced mothers with children and babies, families who have lost fathers, military and other hospitals, and the previously occupied towns north of Brovary, and schools up to the Belarus border.
They also support local Chorleywood guests from Ukraine, generally mothers with young children, alongside the Chorleywood 4 Ukraine charitable group.
